1CMP0010 2------- 3 4Bad variable reference syntax is an error. 5 6In CMake 2.6.2 and below, incorrect variable reference syntax such as 7a missing close-brace (``${FOO``) was reported but did not stop 8processing of CMake code. This policy determines whether a bad 9variable reference is an error. The ``OLD`` behavior for this policy is 10to warn about the error, leave the string untouched, and continue. 11The ``NEW`` behavior for this policy is to report an error. 12 13If :policy:`CMP0053` is set to ``NEW``, this policy has no effect 14and is treated as always being ``NEW``. 15 16This policy was introduced in CMake version 2.6.3. CMake version 17|release| warns when the policy is not set and uses ``OLD`` behavior. Use 18the :command:`cmake_policy` command to set it to ``OLD`` or ``NEW`` explicitly. 19 20.. include:: DEPRECATED.txt 21
